Vibration Challenge
TAKE THE VIBRATION CHALLENGE

Some amount of vibration is inherent in any aircraft, but excess vibration can cause serious problems. Over time, the wear and fatigue caused by vibration can cause failures. Avionics, airframe and engine are all adversely affected by vibration. Thus, safety is jeopardized and comfort is compromised. It may take days, months, or years, for vibration to cause a failure, but who knows when it will occur?

Take the "Vibration Challenge" and see if it is time for you to have your aircraft fine-tuned to reduce the amount of excess vibration that may eventually cause failures to occur.

    Yes No
  1. Can you see your sun visors or glare shield shaking while in flight?
  2. Is there chafing in your engine compartment?
  3. Do your instrument needles "jump" a lot?
  4. Do your legs or arms ever feel "tingly" during or after a flight?
  5. Is there a "buzz" in your control grip?
  6. Is your GAMI spread greater than .5?
  7. Do your EGTs "stair-step" during LOP mag check?
  8. Can you see your wing tips shake while in flight?
  9. Has your propeller been dressed recently?
10. Has your prop been serviced with grease lately?
11. Do you notice a rougher RPM range?
12. Has it been a long time since your mags have been replaced or serviced?
13. Do you have problems with your oil cooler or exhaust system cracking?
14. Does your compass card "dance"?
15. Is there a difference in vibration between left and right mags during mag check?
16. Is there a difference in split in RPMs during mag check?

The above are all signs and symptoms indicating the presence of excess vibration. If you answered "yes" to several of the above questions, it's time to have Aviation Resources perform its "magic" to make your aircraft safer, smoother, and more comfortable. Improved safety and reliability are worth it! (Not to mention the potential savings on maintenance costs when failures occur!)
